Now that we are getting into a semi-routine following a hectic summer, I thought I would suggest a few baby and toddler activities around Tunbridge Wells in case you are looking for something to do this week. Here they are……
#1 Open Coffee Morning at The Junction Inn, Groombridge – Tuesday 15 September
There are games for the little ones including free run of the garden and play equipment. The coffee morning runs from 9am until midday and I am told there is plenty of parking too.
#2 Woodland walk at Pepenbury
Pepenbury is one of my favourite places to take my toddler for a woodland walk. Just a few minutes outside of town, Pepenbury has a coffee shop, lovely little animals including rabbits, chickens and some piggies and a woodland walk with picnic area and a wooden ‘playground’.
Pepenbury is buggy friendly and free, though donations can be left in the donation box. The walk is around a mile and a half long and visitors are welcome in the woodland between 10am and 4.30am (gates close at 5pm). If you haven’t been there before, it is well worth a visit……
#3 The Wheels on Debussy debut concert – Thursday 17th September
The Wheels on Debussy is a series of concerts tailored for pre-school children that take place in venues across Kent. Their debut concert is taking place at 10am this Thursday at St. Peters and St. Pauls Parish Church, Tonbridge.
The Wheels on Debussy provides a high quality classical music experience for parents and their child in a beautiful setting and a relaxed environment. Arrive early at the venue for a decent coffee, tasty cakes, child friendly snacks and a wee bit of craft, then be transported by some beautiful blissful tunes. Tickets, which can be bought on the door, are £5 per child, siblings 50% (up to 3 children per adult). Further information can be found here.
#4 Friday Fun at Tunbridge Wells Library – Friday 18th September
This Friday’s session is called ‘Bug Out’ and is a great way of getting little ones interested in art & culture from a young age, making them museum goers for life. he sessions are run on a ‘drop in’ basis, so there’s no need to book.
