♥ If you do one thing this weekend, it must be to visit the centrepiece of the Puppetry Festival: Museum of the Moon. Measuring seven metres in diameter, this awe-inspiring artwork will be suspended above Calverley Grounds from 7pm on Friday until 9pm on Sunday. With its detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface, this free art installation is coming from its tour of the likes of the Natural History Museum, for its first trip to the Southeast, right on our doorstep! The Inside will be serving food and drinks from the café and a pop-up adjacent to the installation throughout the weekend. The installation can be seen on Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 9pm too.
Friends of Calverley Grounds invite all to Free Art in the Park including spray painting, comic strip creations and Moon modelling with Freckles from 12-2pm on Saturday.
- The festival programme includes some great introductions to theatre. Dig! is perfect for children 6 months to 3 years, at the Assembly Hall on Thursday 14th October at 10am & 11.30am, while The Hug at Trinity Theatre on Friday 15 October at 10am and 11.30am is ideal for little ones age 4 and under. On Saturday 16th Eggs on Legs at the Camden Centre is great for older siblings too up to 8 years.

- Your 8+ year olds can join one of the Aardman team of expert model makers to get hands on making your own Gromit, Feathers McGraw or Shaun the Sheep character on Saturday at Royal Victoria Place. Bookable in advance for £10.
There are many more free puppetry performances for all to enjoy across the town, on The Pantiles, Trinity Theatre, The Forum and Trinity Theatre as well as paid-for ticketed events. Check out the programme and enjoy!
♥ Take on the ultimate endurance obstacle course when it returns to Hever Castle this Saturday and Sunday. Commando UK is the only event that recreates the mud, sweat and pain of modern-day Royal Marines Commando training. Anyone aged 8-80 can challenge themselves across a 6k course, taking on some of the toughest obstacles straight out of the Commando test book, but you can pick your level from Commando to a family-friendly course. A great day out for all the family!
