There’s nothing better than a cup of hot chocolate to lift your spirits on a cold day, and Tunbridge Wells is packed with fab spots to grab one. Whether you like it classic, fancy, or vegan-friendly, here are the best places to get your fix of hot chocolate in Tunbridge Wells…
♥ The Cake Shed
Another a solute gem in The Pantiles, The Cake Shed isn’t just about their amazing cakes. Their hot chocolate is rich and dreamy, choose between milk, dark, white and ruby chocolate. Bonus points if you pair it with a slice of cake – because why not?
♥ Cup 109
A new addition to this post! Cup 109 is a lovely independent cafe in the centre of Tunbridge Wells, just down from Five Guys / Specsavers. Not only do the pastries look amazing, but they have some lovely heathy porridge, smoothies and lunch options too. I’m told the hot chocolate is a must-try here – made with real chocolate flakes and lots of flavour options too. Watch this space – I’m off to try it…
♥ Hattons
Another one in The Pantiles! Hattons is all about classy vibes and proper treats. Their hot chocolate is pure indulgence – thick, creamy, and topped with a generous dollop of fresh cream with lots of different flavours on offer. Our favourite flavour is the orange. So whether you’re chilling after a stroll or just fancy treating yourself, Hattons’ hot choc feels like a warm hug in a cup.
♥ Earl Grey Tea Rooms
If you’re after some old-school charm, head to the Earl Grey Tea Rooms in Southborough. Their hot chocolate is served in adorable vintage cups and comes with the option to pile on cream and marshmallows. Add a scone on the side, and you’ve got yourself a proper treat.

♥ Juliets
Quirky and fun, Juliets on High Street is a local favourite. Their hot chocolate is anything but boring – it’s creamy, loaded with whipped cream, and sprinkled with chocolatey goodness. Plus, the lively atmosphere and funky decor make it a fab spot to relax.
♥ Even Flow
Looking for something a bit different? Even Flow is a music and coffee lounge with laid-back vibes and some seriously good hot chocolate. It’s perfectly rich and not too sweet – ideal for sipping while enjoying some tunes or catching up with mates.♥ Ruby’s of London
For a vegan hot choc that’s as good as (if not better than) the traditional kind, Ruby’s of London is the place to go. Creamy, smooth, and totally dairy-free, their hot chocolate proves you don’t need milk to make magic. It’s a top pick for anyone with dietary needs or just looking to try something new.
♥ Fine Grind
Coffee fans love Fine Grind, but their hot chocolate is just as brilliant. Made with real chocolate and silky milk, it’s smooth, rich, and seriously satisfying. The chilled-out vibe of the café makes it a great spot to unwind with a cup.
♥ Black Sheep Coffee
Last but not least, there’s Black Sheep Coffee. They’re known for shaking things up, and their hot chocolate is no exception. It’s bold, full of flavour, and pairs perfectly with one of their tasty pastries. A great shout if you fancy something a bit edgy.
So, next time it’s chilly out, why not check out one of these fab spots and treat yourself to a cup of chocolatey goodness?
