Bishops Down Primary School in Tunbridge Wells is inviting prospective families to come and discover the school at two Open Days this October.

Taking place this Friday (2 October) and on Friday 16 October 2026, from 9am – 10am, the Open Days are a chance for parents and children to explore the school, meet staff and pupils and see learning in action.

Families will have the opportunity to meet the Headteacher and Reception Teacher, tour the school and find out more about what children can expect as they begin their educational journey at Bishops Down.

Nestled in the heart of Tunbridge Wells, Bishops Down Primary School benefits from wonderful grounds and open spaces, as well as a thriving Forest School, giving children plenty of opportunities to learn and explore beyond the classroom.

The school places a strong emphasis on creating an inclusive and nurturing environment where every child feels valued and supported.

Its recent 2026 Ofsted inspection rated the school Strong or Expected in all areas, with inspectors highlighting its inclusive ethos, pupils’ positive attitudes to learning and exemplary behaviour.

Ofsted described Bishops Down as a school where “diversity is genuinely celebrated and every pupil is valued”, while also noting that “pupils’ behaviour is exemplary. Pupils are thoughtful, friendly and highly respectful.”

Inspectors also praised the strong sense of belonging experienced by children across the school, observing that pupils arrive each day “with happy smiles and a respectful outlook.”

Bishops Down offers a nurturing Early Years provision, with a particular focus on developing strong foundations in communication, language and reading.

As children progress through the school, they follow an ambitious and engaging curriculum designed to build their knowledge, confidence and independence over time.

Alongside classroom learning, pupils can take part in a wide range of enrichment opportunities, including clubs, educational visits and leadership roles.

The school aims to ensure children leave Bishops Down well prepared for the next stage of their education, achieving outcomes in line with or above national averages while developing a genuine enthusiasm for learning.
