Blackberry Farm Lewes – meet the animals and play all day!
Blackberry Farm Lewes is a family run attraction nestled in the East Sussex countryside less than 45 mins drive from Tunbridge Wells.
Open all year round, this family attraction has a lot to offer and you can easily stay all day. It is one of our favourite animal parks in East Sussex.
What’s great is that after the entry fee all the activities are included and if you take a packed lunch, it’s a really great value day out with family and friends.
Meet the animals at Blackberry Farm Lewes
At certain times in the day, the small Animal Barn is a lovely cosy space to handle smaller animals, such as rabbits, guinea pigs and tortoises, with staff on hand to assist.
The farm animals, including llamas, alpacas, Highland cattle, pigs, sheep and donkeys can be found on a short stroll around the park. You can get very close to the friendly animals and feed them, either by hand or through the chutes.
The enclosures are clean, the animals look happy and there are plenty of handwashing facilities.

Outdoor play for all ages
There is a very large play area with lots of interest for a wide age range and this is where we spend most of our time when visiting. As well as more traditional playground fun in all sizes, there is a variety of imaginative rides and activities.
Too many to mention but highlights include go-karts, boat-swings, giant jumping pillows, zip line, ride-on tractors, bowling alley, penalty shoot-out and the popular Barrel Bug Ride.
Although the outdoor play area is big, the play is fairly compact so even if your kids spread out it’s still just possible to see them, so everyone is happy!
Always first on the agenda for my kids are the pony rides around the arena, which you can pre-book on arrival in the cafe or kiosk on arrival. This is one of their favourite Blackberry Farm activities.
Another popular activity are the hourly tractor trailer rides that tour the park. If it’s your first visit, this is a fun way to see what’s on offer and get your bearings.
Rain doesn’t stop play at Blackberry Farm Lewes
Clucky’s Play Barn offers indoor play if it rains or you need a break from the sun. There is a supervised drop slide, plus ball cannons, zip wire and more in a large soft play frame.
For toddlers there is a separate play barn and both areas offer seating so the adults can relax.

Family friendly food & drink
The Blackberry Cafe has a selection of home-cooked food for kids and adults. The queues to order soon build on busy days, so we often take a picnic. There are plenty of picnic tables and a tuck shop, which serves ice cream, cakes and drinks.

If it’s been wet it’s probably best to pack wellies, as you will be walking on grassy areas quite a bit, but it’s still buggy friendly in most areas.
Open all year around, 7 days a week, from 10am until 5pm (4pm in winter). Blackberry Farm rates are of course subject to change but at the time of writing this, entry is £15 per person (or £14.50 if booked online in advance).
The Blackberry Farm prices include almost everything, (just not food, drink and pony rides). It’s strongly advised to book in advance – up until 9am on the day of entry.
