Wondering how to make money while you shop online? Find out more about simple-to-use cashback site, My Money Pocket…
As much as I enjoy shopping and supporting local brick-and-morter businesses, I do my fair share of shopping online too. I think that’s the way of the world these days and as a busy parent with very limited time, it has been a lifesaver over the last few years.
One of the things I have learned about online shopping is that there are some clever ways of reducing your spend, with one of them being a cashback site called My Money Pocket!
So what is My Money Pocket?
My Money Pocket is a cashback site featuring over 4,500 different brands. To earn your money back, all you need to do is create an account and search for the website you are planning to shop on. You’ll be surprised at just how many brands are on there! Ebay, Amazon, M&S, ASOS, Etsy, H&M and Boden to name but a few.
There are also lots of travel brands, food and drink as well as electrical, entertainment, health & beauty and many more.
Once you have found the brand that you are planning to purchase from, you’ll find a list of the different cashback options. A lot of the brands include options for new customers as well as options for existing customers. Some of the cashback options are for specific types of products and others are just a general percentage off your purchase of anything on that site.
Once you have decided on the cashback option you would like, you’ll need to click on ‘activate cashback’. This will then transfer you through to the homepage of the site you are going to be purchasing from. Once you have completed your purchase on the website, you’ll get an email shortly after confirming your transaction and a box reading ‘we recorded your visit’ will show up on the My Money Pocket site too. It really is that simple!
How to know how much money you have earned?
Once you are logged into My Money Pocket, look at the top right corner and you should see your money earned so far. There’s also a dropdown menu on the account tab that will take you to ‘earnings’. This will give you an exact breakdown of your purchases, your total spend and exactly how much you have earned though My Money Pocket.
What did I buy?
I purchased an airfyer through Ebay and some bedding for my son through Very. For my Ebay purchase, there was just one cashback option – this was for 1% cashback which I went ahead with and received £1 back.
For my purchase with Very there were quite a few options for both existing and new customers. I chose to go with the 6.8% cashback option for new customers. I signed up as a new customer (though I have actually used it before, but used a different email address) and received £4.09 back!
I received £1.00 back from Ebay and £4.09 back through Very which I will be able to transfer directly into my bank account once the designated time has gone.
Some of my favourite brands on My Money Pocket which I have purchased from in the last 12 months (and should have used the cashback site!) include:
- La Redoute
- Jojo Maman Bebe
- Hotel Chocolat
- The Body Shop
- Sports Direct
There are sooooooooo many brands on there all divided up clearly by section or just type the name of the brand in the search box and it should come up.
A few things to know…
Your cashback is tracked through cookies so ideally try not to have any other tabs open or to visit any other sites when making your purchase, just to ensure that definitely gets tracked.
You’ll need to ensure that your purchase is started directly on My Money Pocket just to guarantee that it is recorded.
