This week we have put together a lovely selection of regular activities for Mums, that can be attended with little ones in tow. So, there’s no worries about childcare, just a chance to switch off and enjoy doing something you love in the company of likeminded people. What will you choose?
♥ A Busylizzy membership sets the stage for a fun, active pregnancy and maternity leave! Choose from a combination of mum fitness sessions, events and talks to go along to with your little ones. There is a handy app for booking classes held at TW Football Club and St Dunstan’s Church Hall plus Free trial class available.
♥ If you get a lot of enjoyment from singing and could benefit from a little ‘me time’ then the Flutterby Music Singing Mamas Choir could be for you! Meeting every Friday at 1.30pm in Brittens Music Shop, everyone is welcome to sing simple uplifting harmonies taught by ear, while you forget the stresses of life, with or without your little ones. All finished off nicely with tea and cake! Free taster session offered.
♥ MammaFit can help you maintain a mental and physical level of fitness, whatever stage of motherhood you are in. Meeting at the Sweaty Betty store on Tuesdays and Thursdays, there’s classes for both pre and postnatal exercise (babies welcome) for small groups of mums, that can help you achieve your own personal goals. Single sessions available, as well as block bookings.
♥ Puddle Ducks Aquanatal swimming lessons are held in invitingly warm pools around Tunbridge Wells and offer a perfect balance of relaxation, laughter and exercise during pregnancy. Start classes from the end of your first trimester and continue right up until birth. Book in blocks of 8 lessons, plus receive a 20% discount off your first swimming lessons for your little one – a great bonding experience for both of you!
♥ Continue or begin your yoga journey during and post-pregnancy in the safe and well-respected hands of local yoga teacher Brigid. Unity Yoga ‘Bumps & Babies’ classes, include pregnancy yoga with active birth and hypnobirthing, postnatal yoga with baby massage, antenatal education and Vinyasa Flow at various times in Tunbridge Wells. A great way to relax both during and after pregnancy and educate yourself for a positive mind and body.
♥ Anyone looking after little ones might like to consider attending a Daisy First Aid class. It’s just 2 hours of your time but could mean all the difference in an emergency situation. You’ll come away with the skills and confidence to help children using CPR and in a whole host of first aid situations from choking to head injuries, burns to fractures. Classes are held in pre-arranged venues or in the comfort of your own home and infants up to 1 year are welcome to attend.
