Youth Mental Health First Aid Course with West Kent Mind
Youth Mental Health First Aid Course with West Kent Mind – Starts Monday 14 June
Now, more than ever, understanding youth mental health and supporting our children and young people are vital skills to learn. Looking after our mental health is just as important as taking care of our physical health.
At West Kent Mind we run a range of mental health courses, and our next Youth Mental Health First Aid course is for everyone who works with, lives with or supports children and young people aged 8-18. We know that record numbers of young people are struggling with their mental health and we need to give them the support they need.
Learn how to feel confident to step in, reassure and support a young person in distress. This online course will teach you the skills and confidence to spot the signs of mental health issues in a young person, offer first aid and guide them towards the support they need. You will also learn practical skills and takeaway tools to look after your own mental wellbeing.
The fully accredited course is a mix of 4 live online learning sessions, and individual self-learning. The cost is £250pp (RRP £300) available to those who live or work in West Kent and we offer teachers and NHS workers a 10% discount on all our courses.
‘We all have mental health, this is relevant to all of us, young or old, in or out of schools and the workplace. I’ve taken time out of work to complete the youth mental health first aid training course and I can’t recommend it enough.’ Carla Loveday, Senior Paralegal, CooperBurnett Solicitors and mum of teenagers.
All profits from our training courses are invested back into our charity, helping to fund vital services to support local people in our community.
