Halloween at Herstmonceux Castle Estate – putting the ‘scare’ in scarecrow!

This is a collaborative post with Herstmonceux Castle Estate.
The spooky season is fast approaching and the team at Herstmonceux Estate are busy preparing to thrill and chill you from the moment you arrive.
From Saturday 22nd to Monday 31st October (10am to 5pm), pass through the gruesome gatehouse, full of cobwebs and guarded by a giant spider, before making your way through the creepy graveyard.
Follow the ‘scare’crow trail as you head towards the witches’ coven and marvel at the pumpkin displays in various locations across the grounds.

There’s a prize for the best fancy dress, judged by some of the Bader College students. For those brave enough, get your photo taken next to one of the ‘scare’crows to be in with a chance to win the prize!
If all this spookiness makes you hungry, head to the Chestnuts Tea Room which will be open daily from 10am to 3.30pm. For more info visit Herstmonceux Castle Estate online.
Just a 40 minute car ride away from Tunbridge Wells, you’ll have a ‘fangtastic’ family day out at horridly good Herstmonceux this half term….
Tickets are available to purchase in person on arrival or can be pre-booked online here.
