Enjoy a fun family day out at Herstmonceux Castle Gardens and Grounds!
Since reopening in July and the launch of a brand new adventure play area, Herstmonceux Castle Gardens and Grounds has proved to be a popular destination for families looking for an enjoyable day out in a safe environment. Social distancing is easily managed as there is a 300 acre estate to explore that includes formal gardens, woodland, meadows, lakes and a folly, all set around the magnificent 15th century moated castle.
Entry to the gardens is via the stunning gatehouse and then through the beautiful inner courtyard. A one way system is in place here for the safety of visitors as are the hand sanitisers placed in various locations. Although tours of the castle are not available at present, an insight into its fascinating history can be found in the Visitor Centre and on certain days a tour guide is on hand to answer questions.
