Combine one of our favourite family walks with a visit to some of the best independent cafes in Tunbridge Wells which are open for takeaway now, or pop into one of them when the local shops re-open over the coming weeks.

The Inside

The Inside has been doing a brilliant job at supplying amazing takeaway coffees and treats from their venue in Calverley Adventure Grounds. Wonderful for keeping warm during these wintery days while watching the kids play! They also have some super plans for December so keep your eyes peeled for news of this. Watch this space…

Fine Grind at The Forum

Fine Grind which is located on both the High Street in Tunbridge Wells and at The Forum. Why not have a wander around the gorgeous Tunbridge Wells Common and wind up at either branch for something lovely? Expect coffee, hot drinks, fresh baked pastries and cakes! The Forum Fine Grind is open from 7.30am until 3pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm Saturday and 9am to 4pm Sunday. The opening hours at Fine Grind on the High Street are the same ecxept they open at 8am Monday to Friday.


Even Flow

The lovely Even Flow which was brand new to St John’s just before lockdown is open for takeaway. This family run coffee and music shop has such a lovely atmosphere and is a really welcome addition to Tunbridge Wells! Opening hours are Tuesdays to Fridays, 9.30am to 3pm | Saturdays 10am to 4pm and Sunday to Monday, 10am to 2pm (please note I am currently double checking whether these opening hours have changed). Enjoy coffees, cakes, savoury, snacks, smoothies, milkshakes, juices and soda as well as their awesome music and books (free hot drink with every purchase). The price list is on their website and on Insta / Facebook. Look out for weekend offers such as Pimms and lunch bags. Even Flow hopes to open soon for browsing, as a non-essential retail site. The Bicycle Bakery

From freshly baked bread to to cinnamon buns and lemon meringue pies, The Bicycle Bakery on Camden Road continues to serve the deserving people of Tunbridge Wells with their  tantalising selection of baked goods. Open from 8am to 4pm Tuesday to Saturday, their Instagram feed is bound to make your mouth water! Well done to The Bicycle Bakery for keeping a providing a semblance of normality and routine over the last few months!


♥ Langton Pavilion Cafe
The lovely Langton Pavilion Cafe open from Tuesday to Saturday, offering delicious cakes, bakes, drinks and lunches for takeaway.  They also have a terrific trail taking place for kids – grab your wellies, and come and search for the fruit for the Hungry Caterpillar.Collect a tick sheet from the Cafe (£2.50 to pay). Once you have finished collect either a piece of fruit and a cookie or a baby hot chocolate and a cookie. This will run every day from 9am – 3pm, Tuesday – Friday.

♥ The Earl Grey  

The Earl Grey in Southborough has been really popular with locals since it re-opened recently, and rightly so! The opening hours are Monday to Saturday, 9am to 3.30pm and there are lots of scrummy options to choose from, both sweet and savoury. They are also offering an Afternoon Tea and Cream Tea delivery service to your door in Southborough! Call on 01892 258800 or message via Instagram or Facebook to place your order.

The Kingdom, Penshurst

The Cafe on the gorgeous and tranquil grounds of Kingdom in Penshurst is open daily from 9am-4pm for take away. If you haven’t been up there before we can highly recommend it. There’s a short walk you can do around the grounds too – good for going on with a toddler! They also have a woodland market open daily too.

Daily Bread Rusthall

The delightful Daily Bread in Rusthall open for takeaway from Wednesday to Saturday, 9am to 3pm. You can see exactly what’s on offer via their menu on Instagram (click above)! They’ve got coffee, bread & cakes up for grabs too! Phone in your order on 01892 457007 or pop in…


Casa de Claudia 

Casa de Claudia on Castle Street just off Tunbridge Wells High Street is a quaint cafe with incredible sandwiches and so much more. They are open for takeaway from Monday to Saturday, 8am to 4pm and Sundays, 9am to 3pm. A handy place to visit when you are in this lovely part of Tunbridge Wells.


Souper Juice

Located on Monson Road, next to Lakeland, Souper Juice is open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday for soups, sandwiches, burritos, quesadillas, sausage rolls, smoothies, juices, cake and coffee. My personal favourite is the chowder! They have a perspex screen up and a social distance one way system. Souper Juice is also on Deliveroo and they can deliver family meals for special occasions!


The Goupie Chocolate House

Located on the edge of Central Market in the heart of Tunbridge Wells, Gorgeous Goupie Chocolate House is open for takeaways on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 9.30am to 5pm (please note I am double checking the opening hours and will update this post shortly). They have a selection of fresh baked cakes and pastries as well as coffee, make your own hot chocolates and of course Goupie! They are also on Deliveroo within those hours and have set up their own Goupie Room Service on their website which allows you to pre-order breakfast trays for delivery to your door or collection in store!


The Zero Waste Company

The Zero Waste Company is such a fantastic addition to The Pantile. It not only has a super selection of coffees, but they are now offering a warming soup or stew served from their outdoor counter, as well as home made non alcoholic MULLED WINE. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday, 8.30am to 5.30pm and Sundays, 10am to 4pm.   


Manuels Cafe & Bakery

Manuels is a favourite family cafe and bakery selling delicious food, coffee, bread & cakes. Located in St John’s next to the brilliant Bloom Foundry and also on Rusthall High Street, their peanut butter and salted caramel brownies (see pic) are a must try! Both branches are open 7am to 2pm Monday to Saturday for takeaway. I’m just double checking opening hours for the St John’s branch which is open at the moment for takeaway too!


Gusta

Gusta, an authentic Italian delicatessen and Wine Bar on Camden Road is open for takeaway too. They also recently celebrated their 6th anniversary since opening. Happy Birthday Gusta!


Table 8 at Grosvenor & Hilbert Park

I have been advised that the cafe at Grosvenor & Hilbert Park is now open for takeaways. I’ll update this post as soon as I get more details…


Arte Bianca

Arte Bianca, a much loved Italian Delicatessen at the entrance to Chapel Place (the Pizza Express end) is open for take away from 9am-4pm, Tuesday to Saturday. As well as amazing coffee, Gianni and his team are offering cheeses, cured meats, olives and delightful deli items as well as dried and cupboard items and  fresh produce.  A product list is available on their website and you can order on 01892 510554 before collecting in store.

Basil Wholefoods

The beautiful Basil Cafes are open for takeaway! I’m looking forward to having a ‘Basil Bowl’ or one of their delicious hot chocolates. Choose between the branch at St John’s, Tunbridge Wells Town Centre, Tonbridge or Sevenoaks. Delicious and wholesome food with great coffee too…


Grays Cafe

The gorgeous Gray’s Cafe in Brenchly is open for takeaway from 9am-2pm Monday-Saturday. The cakes are sublime! There are a few tweaks to their terrific menu with many of the old favourites available!
