I am always on the look out for family-friendly pubs and the Poacher & Partridge in Tudeley (near Tunbridge Wells) ticks the boxes for me…..
I thought I was a bit of an expert on countries pubs in and around Tunbridge Wells (ahem!!) but hadn’t actually visited the Poacher & Partridge until my brother-in-law booked us in there for a family lunch to celebrate a special birthday.
Our group was made up of seven adults, three toddlers and one baby and we were in a private room next to the bar and lounge. The staff were very friendly and efficient and were happy for us to take our time with getting settled into the room (with our bags, buggies and noisy children!) before ordering our food and drinks.
The food was delicious – most of us had the Sunday roast, and the little ones had children’s versions. The puddings hit the spot too!
The decor in the pub has a real rustic charm with a modern twist too and the fireplace was giving out some great heat. There is also a wood fired oven where I am told gorgeous pizzas and steaks are cooked by the venue’s fabulous chefs.
As if it couldn’t get any better……I have since found out that the Poacher & Partridge is building a new barn and kids play area for spring / summer with an outdoor bar & grill.
We will definitely return when the play area has been completed so watch this space for a further update!
