Wondering where to Pick your Own Strawberries around Tunbridge Wells?
Strawberry picking is a fun outdoor activity for families around Tunbridge Wells, alongside local walks and bike rides we’ve also covered. Most PYO farms are now open, but always check their websites or Facebook pages for opening times, booking info and fruit availability before visiting.
1. Maynards Fruits
Where: Maynards Pick Your Own, Maynards Farm, Windmill Hill / Cross Lane, Wadhurst, TN5 7HQ,
When: Tuesday to Sunday – 10am to 5pm. Closed Mondays
Essential Info: Maynards Farm is now open, starting with strawberries at £6/kg. More fruit varieties will be available in the coming weeks—check their updates for details. Visitors are asked to follow farm guidelines, including picking only in designated areas, using the picnic zone for food, and leaving dogs at home. Bring your own containers if possible (or pay 50p for farm-supplied ones), and note that weekend parking is limited to 2 hours before a £20 surcharge applies.
What the parents say: So many votes for this one! Lots of different fruit and always very tasty. The cherries and strawberries there are gorgeous.
2. Lower Ladysden Farm
Where: Lower Ladysden Farm, Winchet Hill, Goudhurst, Kent, TN17 1JX
When: Open for the season now (strawberries and asparagus currently), but please check social media for current availability. Book your tickets here.
What the parents say: Fresh produce from the heart of the Weald. Beautiful setting, that includes a lovely farm shop, selling cake and drinks to enjoy in the outdoor seating area. Note – the strawberries are quite high up at Lower Ladysden so if you do have little people with you, you may need to lift them up.

3. Stonepitts Farm PYO
Where: Stonepitts Farm, Watery Lane, Seal Chart, Sevenoaks, TN15 0ER

More info: It’s strawberry season and the fields at Stonepitts Farm are bursting with ripe, juicy berries ready to pick! This friendly, family-run farm sits at the foot of the North Downs in Seal, Sevenoaks, offering PYO strawberries and raspberries daily (cash and card accepted). With sweeping views over the Vale of Holmesdale and a rich history dating back to the 1800s, it’s a perfect countryside outing.
What the parents say: Very family friendly, popular and reasonably priced too. Strawberries are all grown the old fashioned way.
4. Tibbs Farm
Where: A bit further afield –Tibbs Farm, Udimore, Rye, East Sussex, TN31 6AR
When: Tuesday to Sunday, 9.00am to 4pm from June.
More info: Pick Your Own strawberries and gooseberries are back, with the farm boasting its best strawberry crop in years. Start the season with masses of early ‘Christine’ strawberries and plenty of Invicta gooseberries—perfect for crumbles, jams and more. Enjoy a visit to the heritage pigs, treat yourself to Simply Ice Cream, and bring the dog (on a lead). A £2.50 minimum spend per person applies to enter the PYO fields (under 3s go free). What to know: A bit further afield and a new suggestion for us, but boasting a lovely cafe and the largest selection of fruits in the South East, we thought this idyllic location was worth adding to the list! They even encourage you to “try before you buy”. Can easily combine with a trip to beautiful Rye or Camber Sands beach. Tag us in your photos if you go and let us know what you think!
