We are pleased to tell you about some lovely events with the all clear to go ahead in and around Tunbridge Wells this weekend. Plus, a selection of places to enjoy where we live in the glorious autumn sunshine we’re experiencing!
♥ Pub in the Park is coming to Tunbridge Wells this weekend – Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September with a drive-in garden party. Park the car in your own private garden at Eridge, roll out a picnic blanket and party to live music acts such as Keane and Gabrielle, whilst sampling mouth-watering food served by top chefs. Tickets still available.
♥ Herstmonceux Castle provides plenty of space for outdoor adventures with family or friends on a nice day. As well as the many different gardens to explore, a new natural play area has just opened and although the café isn’t open, a vintage tea van is now serving drinks and snacks. You can also pick up the new family quiz and activity sheet at the entrance or download it here.
♥ Enjoy all the flavours of autumn at Reuthe’s The Lost Gardens of Sevenoaks’ inaugural Harvest Festival this Saturday 19th September. There will be adult and child menus of fusion bowl food from Wild Seasoning Catering, plus local food and artisan producers showcasing autumnal produce. Don’t miss an interactive trek through the 11-acre woodland with Nuzzle and Scratch the friendly alpacas and the Fairy Trail Forest Hunt (£5 per child to include a hot chocolate).
♥ With the season ending soon, it might be the last chance to pick your own flowers this weekend. On Tuesday through to Saturday, Cherry Gardens Organic Farm open their homegrown farm shop and PYO flower meadow. You can find them in surrounding beautiful countryside, near the village of Groombridge.
♥ Take your four-legged friends along to Paws in the Park this weekend at the Kent Showground, Detling. There’s a packed schedule of events in the arena from agility displays to sheepdog duck herding. Plus, have-a-go doggy fun and competitions, companion dog shows and lots of shopping for those doggy essentials!
♥ With the warm weather set to last until the weekend, Bewl Water is another option for some outdoor family time. For the adventurous among you, take on the 2400sq meters of inflatable aqua park, cycle the 13-mile route around the reservoir (bike hire available) or try out the Laser Challenge. There’s also walking, a large picnic area, adventure playground and soft play included in the £5 per car entry fee.
♥ Looking to escape the everyday this weekend? How about spending an hour at The Wonder Factory, Blue Water? The temporary installation of 14 themed rooms, includes a giant foam marshmallow pool, confetti rooms and connected pink phone boxes, and is bookable now for visitors of all ages (children must be accompanied by adults).
♥ A bit more of a drive this one, approx. 1 hr 20min away, is Fishers Adventure Farm Park. Experience an action-packed day out, with too many indoor and outdoor activities to mention, but highlights include Splash Attack, Sky Fall, Tractor Rides, a toboggan-run style ride, Barrel Bug Safari, adventure golf and indoor play barn.
