Autumn is here, which means it’s officially time to grab your wellies and go pumpkin picking! From traditional farm patches, to full-blown autumn festivals, there are lots of places to get into the Halloween spirit this year. Some farms operate ticket-only or timed-entry systems, while others are simply turn-up-and-pick, so always check the booking details before setting off. Here are some of the best places to pick your own pumpkins near Tunbridge Wells and across Kent, East Sussex and the surrounding area.
Country Pumpkins PYO, Penshurst
Country Pumpkins PYO with Pierson Agriculture is back for 2026, but with a new location! You’ll find the pumpkin field on Poundsbridge Lane, with picking taking place on 17th & 18th October and 24th – 31st October. Expect pumpkins in lots of different sizes and colours, plus a scarecrow trail and refreshments. Vehicle tickets must be booked in advance.

Groombridge Hill Pumpkins
One of the closest options to Tunbridge Wells, Groombridge Hill Pumpkins has a huge five-acre pumpkin patch at the top of Groombridge Hill. The 2026 dates are 3 & 4, 10 & 11, 17 & 18 and 24th – 31st October, with the patch open from 10am – 4.30pm. Tickets are per car for up to five people and you’ll arrive during a 30-minute entry slot, giving you plenty of time to wander through the patch and find your perfect pumpkin.

The Great Pumpkin Pick, The Montreal Estate
For a full day of autumn fun, head to The Montreal Estate at Sundridge, near Sevenoaks, for its annual Great Pumpkin Pick. Taking place on selected dates between 2nd and 31st October, the experience includes pumpkin picking, a Spooky Maize Maze and other autumn activities. Tickets are £13 per car, which includes one pumpkin, with additional pumpkins available to buy.

Lower Ladysden Farm, Goudhurst
A local favourite, Lower Ladysden Farm is back for 2026 with thousands of pumpkins to choose from, plenty of photo opportunities, Bale Mountain, a marshmallow-toasting station and, new this year, crêpes and waffles. Fancy something a little more atmospheric? Pumpkin Nights are also returning for after-dark autumn fun. Pre-booking is essential.

Loddington Farm, Linton
Head to Loddington Farm near Maidstone for a slightly different take on pumpkin picking. The farm is teaming up with Blooming Green for its 2026 pumpkin patch, where you can pick both pumpkins and autumn flowers. The patch runs 17th – 31st October, daily from 10am–4pm, with regeneratively grown pumpkins, a flower safari, games and weekend food trucks. There’ll also be face painting at weekends.

Spadework Charity Pumpkin Patch, West Malling
Want to pick a pumpkin while supporting a local charity? Spadework’s Pumpkin Garden is back from 5th – 31st October. Entry is free, there’s no need to book and you simply pay for the pumpkins you pick. There’s a wide range of varieties and sizes, plus food and drink, free parking and a dog-friendly setting. So pick with purpose and help raise money for Spadework to continue its work supporting people to live happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives.

Pumpkin Moon, Maidstone & Rainham
Pumpkin Moon returns to two Kent farms in Maidstone and Rainham, with more than 100 varieties of pumpkins, squashes and gourds to choose from. The 2026 season runs on selected dates from 10th until 31st October, with daytime sessions from 10am – 3:30pm. Expect everything from traditional orange pumpkins to weird and wonderful warty varieties, plus food and drink and plenty of autumnal photo opportunities. Tickets start from £2.75 on weekdays and £3.75 at weekends, with family tickets also available.

Meopham PYO, Broomfield Farm
Over at Broomfield Farm in Meopham, you can pick your own pumpkins, apples, pears and squash throughout October. The pumpkin patch is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 2nd – 31st October, from 10am – 4pm. Entry to the farm is free and you simply pay for what you pick by weight. There’s also BBQ at weekends and the White Finch Tea Rooms will be open for refreshments. Dogs are welcome on short leads.

Wingham Wildlife Park, Canterbury
Wingham Wildlife Park is getting into the Halloween spirit this October half term, with PYO pumpkins available from 24th October to 1st November for just £2 each. There’s no extra cost to take part, although pumpkins are available while stocks last. You’ll also find free Halloween activities throughout the week, including face painting, pumpkin carving and spooky activities with the education team, plus the chance to explore the wildlife park and meet all the animals.

Beck Evans Farm, Sidcup
The Beck Evans Farm Pumpkin Festival returns for 2026, with pumpkin picking, food and drink and a funfair arriving on site from 16 October. The family-run farm is on the Kent/London border in Sidcup, making this a handy option if you’re heading towards north-west Kent. Pumpkin picking runs on selected dates from 9 October to 1 November.

Priory Farm, South Nutfield
Just over the Kent border in Surrey, Priory Farm is a great option for a full day of Halloween fun. The Pumpkin Field is open from 17th – 31st October, with pumpkins, gourds and squashes in every shape and colour, plus a Hay Bale Maze, fire pit for marshmallow roasting and plenty of photo opportunities. You can visit the field independently or book the Pumpkin Field Tractor Adventure, which includes a tractor and trailer ride with spooky surprises along the way. There’s also the Discovery Land Halloween Trail, where children can join Brother Hay’s School of Trickery for interactive Halloween fun.

Tulleys Pumpkin Festival, West Sussex
If you’re after the big one, Tulleys is hard to beat. The famous Tulleys Pumpkin Festival is back for 2026, with a whopping 1.5 million pumpkins and gourds across its pumpkin fields. New for 2026 is Pumpkin Valley, with giant pumpkin sculptures, ponds and new areas to explore, alongside street theatre, live music, seasonal food and drink, a vintage carousel and a 33m observation wheel. The festival runs from September into November on selected dates, so there are plenty of opportunities to visit before Halloween.

Latchetts Farm, East Sussex
For a lovely family-friendly pumpkin-picking experience, head to Latchetts Farm near Uckfield. Simply pay for whatever you pick. Dogs are welcome on leads, and tractor rides will run to and from the pumpkin patch. The farm also has plenty to make a day of it, including the Adventure Golf Course, The Stables Coffee & Kitchen, Latchetts Gelato Parlour and The Doves Playbarn. Off-road buggies or baby carriers are recommended for getting around the patch. Free entry and no booking required.

Sharnfold Farm, East Sussex
Over at Sharnfold Farm, the PYO pumpkin field is part of the farm’s wider trail, meaning your entry ticket gives you access to the rest of the site too. The pumpkin patch is open on 3 & 4, 10 & 11 and 17 & 18 October, from 10am – 4pm. Expect hundreds of pumpkins in different shapes and sizes, plus autumnal displays and photo opportunities. Pumpkins are priced individually by weight.

Feagans Farm, Uckfield
Feagans Farm is back with its popular PYO Pumpkin Patch, offering multiple varieties to choose from. After a challenging growing season, the farm has supplemented its own crop with pumpkins from another local grower, so there’ll still be plenty to pick. Look out for the returning Hunt the Golden Pumpkin and Guess the Weight of the Pumpkin competitions, plus a spooky Pillbox in the woods if you dare! There’ll also be tea, coffee, cake and hot chocolate from Cake It Til You Bake It, children’s games and prizes, and plenty of lovely countryside for photos. Entry is free with no booking required, and the patch is open 3 – 4, 10 -11, 17 – 18 and 24th – 31st October, 10am – 4pm.

Broadditch Farm, Southfleet
Broadditch’s pumpkin patch is taking a break after the exceptionally dry summer affected this year’s crop but Halloween isn’t cancelled! From 24th – 31st October, the farm will host its new Little Frights Trail, an indoor Halloween experience for younger children, with spooky scenes, skeletons, pumpkins and scarecrows. There are also pumpkin carving workshops, costing £7.50 per person including a pumpkin, plus homegrown pumpkins and squash available to buy from the farm.
