♥ Black Sheep Coffee has been designed to for remote working. There are plug sockets at almost every table, you can order refills from your table using a QR code or the app. There’s water to help yourself to and most of the tables are just for two – or can be pushed together if you’re getting together with other people.

♥ If you love music while you work, then how about Even Flow on St John’s Road? The laid-back record shop serves up delicious fresh coffee and plays some fab tunes to keep you upbeat through the working day. Our tip is to try and nab a window seat so you can watch the buzzing St John’s Road whirl by as you work.

♥ Bit of an under-the-radar one here, but we love working from Hotel du Vin in Tunbridge Wells. It’s so cosy in winter, and such a great location right in the centre of town. If you’re driving you can park in Crescent Road car park. Plus at lunchtime you can either relax in the hotel, run errands in town or have a stroll around Calverley Grounds. We tend to sit in the lounge (to the left when you enter the hotel) and order drinks from the bar. It’s lovely and quiet and opens lates than the cafes.

♥  If you’re after something peaceful and out of town, then Kingdom gets two thumbs up from us. The cafe serves amazingly good coffee, pastries and tasty lunches. The space is bright yet cosy – there’s a log burner in winter. And you’re surrounded by woodland, fresh air and amazing views. It’s just perfectly buzzy to work from, and you could even schedule a yoga break at Flourish into your working day. The absolute dream!

♥ A calm, welcoming space with good coffee and a laid-back atmosphere – Cup 109 is independently owned and really central. They have some great pastries as well as porridge, smoothies and healthy lunch options too. Located just down from Pret…

♥ Small but perfectly formed! Momentum Coffee Shop has a cult following here in Tunbridge Wells and I can see why. Great coffee, friendly vibes and a solid option if you want a change of scenery and somewhere smaller and quieter than Black Sheep.

♥ One of the more ‘trendy’ places in Tunbridge Wells perhaps? Gail’s on Tunbridge Wells High Street has plenty of tables for working remotely. Try to position yourself in one of the cosy booths and make sure you try their fabulous coffee and perfect pastries!

♥ It’s pretty well known that Aussies do the best brunch and brekkie in the world, and Aussie-owned St Kilda (formerly Black Dog Cafe) on Camden Road is a corker for a delicious breakfast with a side order of work. The tables are tightly packed, so perhaps not one for lengthy zoom chats, but it’s fab for quiet corners – and a fab location too! We hear that there is plenty more space upstairs too so do check that out if you visit.

♥ Another favourite of mine is the lobby area and/or bar at The Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells. It’s very relaxed there, plenty of parking and I sometimes work there in the last afternoon early evening when some of the cafes have shut and I have some tight deadlines to meet!

♥ Claiming to offer proper coffee and good vibes, Fine Grind on the High Street is a great WFH (but not H) location. We can’t deny that both the coffee and vibes are good at Fine Grind. They also run the cafe in The Amelia, although this is a bit busier and noisier than the High Street venue – there is a great buzz to it though and you could always go upstairs to the ‘work room’ in The Amelia for some silence if needed (see below).

♥ Speaking of The Amelia, how about working from here? There’s often a quiet room available just next door to the cafe, with comfy seats and a more laid-back environment that a straight-up library. Or try upstairs as there is a work room up there or a central area with a big bright window facing onto Monson Road – and a grand piano if we recall correctly?

♥ Daily Bread in Rusthall deserves a mention. You can find parking on any of the surrounding streets and this lovely independent cafe has a wholesome menu, great coffee and a laid back feel to it. There are plenty of seating options with larger tables up at the back where it is possible to set up your laptop and get some quality work done. In the summer months, there’s a quaint seating area tucked away at the back of the cafe which is worth a visit too.

There’s yet more places to work from in Tunbridge Wells…

♥ The Terrace needs to get a mention on here. It’s somewhere we go regularly. The cafe is on the second lever of Fenwick in Royal Victoria Place and has ample space for people working remotely. You’ll be amongst Mums and Dads with their tots, as well as friends meeting for coffee and lunch and it is possible to sit there quietly without feeling rushed. Connect to the Fenwick wi-fi which is pretty speedy too and enjoy a browse around the home and toy department! The main courses can be pretty pricey but we usually go for the soup (always yum) as well as plenty of tea and coffee…

♥ Another great option with lots of tasty treats for your working lunch is Basil. There’s one on St John’s Road and one on Lime Hill Road, just opposite Bill’s. Quick warning: Basil opens at 9.30am and shuts at 4.30pm. But it’s perfect for those sandwiching the school run into their days, though.

♥ The White Bear on the high street welcomes remote workers. There’s plenty of space there, and always a friendly welcome. Their food is good too, for a working lunch.

In today’s work-from-anywhere world, clients still expect fast, professional communication. Virtual receptionist services make that easy—handling calls and enquiries while you work flexibly, wherever you’re based. Whether you’re tucked into a cosy booth or working from a quiet hideaway, you can stay focused knowing someone’s taking care of your callers behind the scenes.
