Love it or loathe it, soft play has been my saviour for many’s a morning or afternoon since having kids and I have probably visited every venue for soft play in Kent in recent years. Thankfully the soft play venues have being able to reopen after months of being closed!
I have tried to choose a selection of different types of soft play settings close to Tunbridge Wells, to give you inspiration for those rainy days or when the kids just need to go and burn some energy. Hope it’s useful!
♥ Minor Mania Play Centre, Tunbridge Wells
Minor Mania is a multi-tiered soft play centre, providing a safe, secure and stimulating environment. Based just a few miles outside of Tunbridge Wells in Bells Yew Green, Minor Mania is open seven days a week.
There’s a dedicated play space for the under 3’s with a fish aquarium panel, plasma panels and a smaller frame with a slide. The giant frame for older children includes air cannons, helter skelter slide, mouse holes, an Edublock area and an astra slide.
I used to spend most Mondays there before my eldest son started school and we still go along regularly for both birthday parties and general play. Pre-booking for Minor Mania is required. Check out the monthly membership option which is great value too.
There’s free Wifi and parking for the grownups and the cafe has plenty of hot and cold food options. Little visitors can also enjoy the great garden outside too.

♥ Kent Life, Maidstone
Have you visited Kent Life in Maidstone? There’s an indoor soft play barn at this fantastic farm – as well as the traditional farm animals, Cuddle Corner, Paint a Pot studios, tractor rides and much more! Plus visit the vintage village while you are there too.
♥ Creams Cafe
Creams Cafe in central Tunbridge Wells has a small but decent soft play area. My favourite time to visit is on a weekday just after it opens (at 11am) as it’s fairly quiet and the little ones have lots of space to run around.
♥ Blackberry Farm, near Lewes
As well as being a fantastic farm with several outdoor play areas and tractor rides, Clucky’s indoor play barn has slides, ball bogglers and cannons as well as a ‘sensory stars’ area.
