Autism and ADHD Assessments…

The incredible team of Therapists, Doctors and Psychologists, additionally provide formal and recognised Autism and ADHD Assessments and the Centre has become a haven for so many families over this past year.

Tammy Fioravanti, the Clinical Director of both the London and Tunbridge Wells branches, explained that over the past couple of years she has witnessed a worrying increase in mental health referrals for children and adolescents and expressed that an important part of The Children’s Wellness Centre is to normalise the fact that anyone can go through difficult periods, and it is OK to ask for help.

Tammy explained that the Wellness Centres have received so much positive feedback from children and young people themselves, who have commented that although the therapy sessions are all private, it is a comfort knowing that Centres like these exist and they are not alone with their struggles and worries.

The Centre holds strict policies that all their team members are specialised in paediatrics, and with under 18s being the sole focus of all the services, the Centre has a relaxed and child friendly atmosphere aiming to make everyone attending sessions feel at ease.

Pam Bentley, the Centre’s practice manager commented that many children and families are nervous coming for their first therapy appointment, but when they walk in the door and are welcomed by a friendly face and a calming atmosphere suited entirely for children, they instantly feel more relaxed.

The Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy room…

For the younger age group sessions are always made as fun as possible, and with the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy room featuring posters of a flamingo dancing in trainers and a giraffe on roller skates, alongside a huge array of fun toys and equipment, it is no wonder that so many children eagerly run into their therapy sessions each week!

Parent and carer referrals…

Pam explained that referrals for the therapeutic services can be made directly by parents/carers themselves via the website or by phone. She emphasised that if children are also receiving support via the NHS, the team will always strive to work in partnership, ensuring the best interests of the child are maintained at all times.
