Three family friendly things to do in Tunbridge Wells this weekend – 18 & 19 April

#1 Day out with Thomas – Spa Valley Railway

Thomas the Tank Engine and friends will be returning to the Spa Valley Railway in Tunbridge Wells on 18, 19, 25 and 26 April 2015.

A day out with Thomas involves lots of activities for the kids and is a fun day out for any little engine fans.

#2 Alice in Wonderland at Groombridge Place

This weekend is your last chance to meet the magical characters from the famous novel by Lewis Carroll at Groombridge Place and Gardens, Tunbridge Wells.

Alice in Wonderland_Groombridge Place_Tunbridge WellsThe fairy tale about what happens to Alice when she falls down a rabbit hole into a fantasy world is being recreated at Groombridge Place and families who follow the map will find characters including Alice, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, The Cheshire Cat, The White Rabbit and the Mad Hatter.

Visitors will be met by a magician when they enter Groombridge Place and other activities include face painting, a mad hatter’s tea party and archery. Further information can be found here.

#3 Pantiles Food and Craft Market – Saturday 18 April

The Food and Craft Market features an excellent range of stalls selling high quality local produce, hot foods, crafts, homewares and accessories. It opens between 9am and 5pm and I think this is a lovely way to spend an afternoon – supporting local producers.

We often walk into Tunbridge Wells and have a browse around the market which is buggy friendly and a nice opportunity to let the children have a bit of a run around while we get to try some of the beautiful local produce. We usually combine this with a visit to the playground at Grove Park, just off the High Street too.

Plus don’t forget Fitbunch classes are taking place for teen this Sunday at the Sweaty Betty Studio on the High Street, Tunbridge Wells. The first class is free for each participant. See here for more details!Kids and Teens Fitness_Tunbridge Wells
