As I write this, actual hail is battering the window. This Spring weather sure is a trip, right?! Eesh. We understand how difficult it is to keep kids entertained when you can’t plan for the weather, which is why we have this bumper guide of things to do in Tunbridge Wells if it’s raining. It’s also lambing season – I spotted lots of newborn lambs on Romney Marsh as we visited Camber over Easter. So we’ve got the best lambing events to go to this weekend listed below too. Wishing you a lovely weekend whatever you do – I’m off to do a sun dance!

Where to see lambing in Kent and East Sussex?

OUR PICK THIS WEEKEND

Adult tickets are £8, kids aged 2-16 £4 and a family ticket (two adults; two kids) are £22. There will be face painting, tractor rides (weather permitting – eek!), sheep sheering and sheepdog demonstrations. There’s usually a bouncy castle too.

Something that’s FREE

Visit a playground for fun + hot chocolates

♥ If you find a moment of sunshine, why not pop out to Grosvenor & Hilbert Rec? There’s a fab playground there for all ages, a flat scooter track for biking and scooting, sports courts, a duck pond and a skate park. There’s also a cafe at The Hub next door to the playground where you can grab hot drinks and light meals.

Hit a garden centre

♥ As the weather warms up, many of us are probably considering sprucing up our gardens. Pop along to Sussex Country Gardener to buy some plants, the kids LOVE the water displays and gift shop, plus there’s a great cafe to buy fresh cakes and yummy lunches.

Enjoy some beautiful woods

♥ Wilderness Woods in Hadlow Down is a great place for a mini day trip. The kids can play in the playground, let their imaginations go wild in the mud kitchen while you enjoy a hot drink from The Hatch. Then take a stroll around the managed woodland – there’s loads of nature to explore at this time of year.
