I hope you have all had a lovely few weeks. I’m still on my mini-break from the blog to spend some time with my family, post-wedding, but thought I would squeeze in a quick post with three things to do in Tunbridge Wells this week…

#1 Save the Last Dance for Me – Monday 4th to Saturday 9th July
Save the Last Dance for Me is a week long show featuring Blue’s boy band member Antony Costa and X Factor star, Lola Saunders. It has arrived in Tunbridge Wells for one week only at the Assembly Hall Theatre and Saturday 9th July is its last showing here. Today’s show (Friday) is at 7.30pm while there are two performances on Saturday – 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
Save the Last Dance for Me re-lives the ‘music and magic’ of the early 60’s in a nostalgic, feel-good journey during music’s golden era as it follows two teenage sisters through the summer of ’63. For the first time without their parents, the sisters embark on a holiday to the seaside and full of freedom and high spirits, they meet a handsome young American who invites them to a dance at the local U.S. Air force base…Featuring classic hits including A Teenager In Love, Sweets For My Sweet, Turn Me Loose and Here I Go Again, this sounds like a super show to take older children to or simply for a ‘girls’ night out!
#2 Tunbridge Wells District Children’s Centre Classes
I have lots of new additions for the baby and toddler classes and playgroups section which I will be updating very soon. Some of the classes I will be adding are the sessions hosted at the Tunbridge Wells Children’s Centres. I have gone along to lots of these classes in the past and really enjoyed them. They are great value too! I also did one of their six week parenting classes back when my eldest son was just a few weeks old and met some lovely friends there who I still see regularly.
Classes include Stay & Play, Runner Beanz, Boogie Mites and Messy Play. I have uploaded the Spring timetable here and will upload the Summer timetable shortly.
#3 Baby Rhyme Time – Mondays, Tuesday and Fridays
Another budget friendly thing to do with babies and pre-schoolers is Rhyme Time at your local library. The Tunbridge Wells Library sessions take place on Mondays from 10 to 10:30am, Tuesdays from 10 to 10:30am and 11- 1:30am along with Fridays from 10 to 10:30am.
Each session includes some lovely traditional nursery rhymes with lots of interaction with your little ones. I will be adding the various free events (including these ones) which take place at the local libraries to the baby and toddler classes calendar very soon!
