The Tunbridge Wells Winter Lanterns will still be taking place this year – but this time at home for 2021!
Due to the pandemic, the team at CREATE will not be able to run the Tunbridge Wells Winter Lanterns Parade in the same way as they normally would. This year we can all light up our homes instead – to help us to share some light during lockdown.
Find out how to get involved in Tunbridge Wells Winter Lanterns…
The CREATE team want to help you share your creative displays with our community in a Covid-19 safe way, allowing people to view the winter lanterns as they take their daily exercise within their households or bubbles or via sharing their photos on social media. A fantastic activity to do at home with the kids during these dreary days.
Using the themes set out below, they want you to think creatively and use your front gardens, cars, houses, windows, even the garden gate(!) to create a fabulous light display within the 2021 theme of Heroes and Villains!
You could use and adapt previous years lanterns or anything to create some light during the darkest time of the year.
See below for the schedule of different lanterns to display, across the month of February, with the final showdown from 22nd to 28th February:
♥ 1-7 February – Heroes
♥ 8-14 February – Villains
♥ 15-21 February – Origin Stories
♥ 22-28 February – The Final Showdown
