Established in 1838, Walthamstow Hall (or ‘Wally’ as it’s affectionately known) is an independent day-school for girls aged 7-18 that’s a stone’s throw from Sevenoaks town centre but adjacent to beautiful Knole Park. Consistently rated in the top 100 schools in the UK, Walthamstow Hall’s heritage and academic reputation might be why it is the only remaining girls-only independent day senior school in Kent.

Built on a strong foundation of outstanding pastoral care, Wally girls are given every opportunity to thrive. Whether they want to act on stage in the 200-seat theatre, play an instrument in the orchestra, create works of art, take part in one of the 50 + co-curricular clubs or compete in sports at a national level (the School is in the top 1% nationwide for sports). Or, all of the above.
This holistic, values-led approach ensures sustained academic excellence, with girls achieving the results needed to progress to first class, first choice universities every year. All while leading purposeful lives, making a positive difference in the world.

Key entry points are in Years 3, 7, 9 and 12, with scholarships available in Years 5, 6, 7, 9 and 12.
In terms of logistics, the Junior school offers wraparound care from 7am – 6:15pm, and the Senior School has an extensive minibus route across Kent (with another Tunbridge Wells route commencing in September 2026).

Walthamstow Hall will be welcoming visitors to its Open Morning on Friday, 6th March, 9.30-11:30am, providing a chance to experience both the Junior and Senior school, their shared facilities and community first-hand.

Families with children in Year 3 and above are welcome to drop their girls at the Junior School to take part in a ‘mini-taster day’ while parents explore the campus. Click here to book your place or contact Mrs Alex Knight at registrar@whall.school to arrange a private tour.
