Summer continues and if you’re running out of ideas for entertaining the family, here is our run down of what’s happening in and around Tunbridge Wells this weekend.

♥ Fri 21 to Sun 23 August – Pick Your Own Sunflowers on Groombridge Hill
Make the most of the summer sunshine with a trip to Groombridge Hill (just beyond Groombridge Farm Shop – on the left as you drive down the hill towards Groombridge), where the sunflower field will be open from 10am to 4pm throughout the weekend. Pick your own beautiful sunflowers, enjoy some time outdoors and stock up on fresh local produce from the fabulous farm shop while you’re there.
♥ Sat 22 & Sun 23 August – Feast Street Food Festival at The Pantiles
Arrive hungry! Feast Street returns to The Pantiles this weekend, bringing together a mouthwatering selection of street food and drinks in the heart of Tunbridge Wells. A lovely excuse to head into town, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy lunch or dinner outdoors.
♥ Sat 22 August – Toy Story 5 at Trinity Theatre
Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the gang are back! Catch Toy Story 5 on the big screen at Trinity Theatre this Saturday at 2.30pm. This time it’s Toy meets Tech, as the toys find themselves facing an all-new threat to playtime. Tickets cost £10 for adults and £7 for children aged 15 and under.
♥ Sat 22 August – Tonbridge Castle Outdoor Cinema: Bridesmaids
Gather your friends, bring a blanket or camping chair and enjoy the blockbuster comedy Bridesmaids on the big screen in the beautiful grounds of Tonbridge Castle. Arrive early to enjoy live music, great food, cocktails and all your favourite cinema treats before settling in for a memorable summer movie under the stars.

♥ Try Dino Golf at Mr Mulligan’s in Tonbridge
Mr Mulligan’s Dino Golf is a great way to while away a morning or afternoon with friends or family. Make your way around the dinosaur-themed adventure golf course – and book online if you want to guarantee a tee time. Dare I say it? It’s close to McDonald’s too, so you could get a fairly budget-friendly lunch in afterwards!
♥ Fri 21 & Sat 22 August – FREE Discovery Days at The Amelia Scott
Last chance to travel through time at The Amelia Scott’s Discovery Days: Discover, Explore, Create. Children can join Moley the adventurous mole to explore the Smelly Stone Age, Rude Romans, Messy Middle Ages and Vast Victorians through free, hands-on crafts and activities. Drop in between 10am and 3pm for a fun and educational summer activity.
♥ Head to The Nevill Crest & Gun for lunch in the garden
When you fancy a quick drink or meal close to home, The Nevill Crest & Gun has a really relaxed atmosphere and a generous amount of outdoor space. The spacious garden and patio have plenty of picnic tables, plus a static tractor and a couple of swings to keep little ones entertained – at least for a little while! The pub itself is a beautiful 500-year-old former farmhouse with plenty of seating inside too.
♥ Further afield – spend the day at Lower Leas Coastal Park in Folkestone
Fancy a trip to the coast? Lower Leas Coastal Park is a brilliant FREE day out, with its huge adventure playground recently reopened following a major refurbishment. Combine the play area with a walk through the gardens, a picnic and some time on the beach for an easy summer day trip to Folkestone.
♥ Or explore Walmer Castle & Gardens in Deal
Take a walk through the woodland at Walmer Castle, where younger explorers will love letting off steam on the natural play trail. Visit the glasshouse café in the Kitchen Garden and, if you’re feeling adventurous, take a walk or cycle along the seafront to Sandown Castle – around 5.7 miles there and back.
