Brambletye Nursery, Pre-Prep and Prep School Open Day

Brambletye Open Day October 2019

Brambletye Nursery, Pre-Prep and Prep: Saturday 28th September

Brambletye children, from the very youngest at 2 ½ to our Year 8s, are inquisitive, active, confident, but above all happy, children. From their earliest days in our light, airy Nursery classrooms, with their own dedicated playground complete with mud kitchen, sand pits, climbing frames and ride-ons, our littlest members are encouraged and nurtured by our teachers. Brambletye Nursery children enjoy varied days, in small groups, often out learning in our woodland, with a hot chocolate break on colder days, or playing on the fields in the school grounds, before enjoying a hot lunch. They take part in assemblies and events with older children in the Pre-Prep, whilst enjoying their own dedicated Nursery wing in the purpose built Pre-Prep building. By the time it comes to join our Reception, the transition is smooth and eagerly anticipated!

The Pre-Prep is a very special place. Our children race to their classrooms each morning to share news with their teacher, to see their friends and start the day with a wealth of creative possibilities and challenges. With their own large well-equipped playground and a Multi-Use Games Area, not to mention the extensive sporting facilities in the Prep School, every child has the opportunity to have active, healthy fun – whatever their preference.

Pre-Prep and Nursery children also have the benefit of the Theatre where, twice yearly, parents are wowed by the confidence and pluck shown by their children, performing in the Summer and Christmas plays to a full house of parents, grandparents and classmates.

Horizons widen further still as our pupils grow up, mature and join their former schoolmates in Year 3 in the Prep school. Art, design, sport, science, humanities, music, drama… we pride ourselves on educating the whole child. We teach them how to think, not what to think. We encourage them to take the time to enjoy being children; to use their opportunities and their gifts; and to discover, for themselves, what excites them.

Small classes throughout the school ensure that every child is nurtured and that their individuality is valued as they embrace, over time, consideration for others, self-discipline, honesty and a desire to learn.

In this our Centenary year, we have been lucky enough to be able to create even more opportunities for Brambletye children. Three separate projects that, between them, encapsulate core Brambletye values: Sportsmanship and Teamwork; Arts and Creativity; and a love of Reading and Literature. Our Centenary All Weather sports pitch was opened last March, joined this September by a brand new, purpose built Art Department; and we look forward to unveiling a newly designed Brambletye Library later this year.

Come and visit us in our Nursery, Pre-Prep and Prep on Saturday 28th September and see for yourselves why children leave Brambletye as confident, happy and well-adjusted young people who work hard and have a love of learning. Give your child the gift of a solid foundation on which they can build as they progress through the rest of their education.
