- Academic Success
Small classes and specialist subject teachers enable us to ensure that every child reaches their full potential. This is borne out by unrivalled scholarship and entry results and an extremely strong track record in the Kent Test, but most importantly, we liaise closely with parents to help select the target school that best suits each individual child.
- Specialist teachers
Specialist teaching is at the heart of everything we do at Hilden Grange. In the Pre-Prep subject specialists take the children for PE, Music, Drama and Computing lessons, and from Year 3 each subject is taught by a specialist teacher. This makes learning varied and stimulating for the pupils and ensures that the school is filled with teachers who are strong in each specialist area and passionate about their subject.
- Outdoor Learning
Outdoor Learning is a core part of the curriculum for the Early Years children and valued very highly. Every day, rain or shine, our Nursery and Reception children will be found immersed in explorative play in our wonderful bespoke Outdoor Learning area.
- Creative Arts
The Creative Arts at Hilden Grange are simply superb. With a host of instrumental and vocal groups there are opportunities for everyone to get involved in music. The annual school musical features a huge cast, with a part found for every child that wants to join in. Performances take place at the EM Forster Theatre and are a real highlight of the school year. Art and Design Technology are taught in custom built rooms and innovative work is exhibited internally and at external exhibitions throughout the year.
- Outstanding Sport
A passion for sport starts early at Hilden Grange, with specialist coaching from the Nursery upwards. With the emphasis firmly on fun and participation, our youngest pupils learn the skills to take part in competitive matches when they reach the Prep School. In the Prep School all pupils compete in weekly fixtures. The benefits of sport – such as teamwork and resilience – are important to every child and we nurture and celebrate all sporting successes.
- Pastoral Care
The happiness and welfare of our children is very important to us at Hilden Grange. Small classes mean that Class Teachers and Form Tutors are able to take care to get to know each individual child. Heads of Pastoral Care in the Prep and Pre-Prep oversee the pastoral care system, providing support and guidance. We think of the school as a big family, which is best summed up by one of our parent’s description of Hilden Grange as a “nurturing, stimulating and kind environment.”
