Collaborative Post

Are you looking to update your home this weekend? Here are just five things that you might want to consider!

Give Your Home A Lick Of Paint

You don’t have to go all out when choosing to update your home and paint the whole house but why not redecorate one room or give your home a lick of paint in the rooms that need it the most? Something you might want to consider is a feature wall – they make such an impact in a room and can be a real talking point.

You don’t even need to think about painting walls – why not upcycle a piece of furniture? You could give it a whole new lease of live with a brand new colour!

Consider Underfloor Heating

Sure, you might need to get someone in over the weekend to fit it but underfloor heating is providing to be quite a popular home update. Not only does it free up your wall space as you have no need for radiators but it is allso incredibly cost effective too. Why not warm up in style with such a heating system?

With energy bills rising, anything that is cost effective is a winner in my eyes!

Get Out In The Garden

When choosing to update your home, you don’t just have to worry about being inside. Why not think about what you can do in your garden – maybe plant some flowers, buy some new planters or pull up any weeds. Gardening can be a fantastic weekend job around the home so why not get out in the garden when you can?

Shelve It

Some people love shelves, others hate them but adding some shelves to your home is a great way to update your home! They provide a way for you to store important items to you such as books or trinkets whilst minimising clutter lying around. If you have many items that you would like to display, putting up some shelves is a great option. They can be picked up fairly easily and for a fairly affordable price. They also come in a range of designs and colours so you will easily be able to find something that suits your decor.

Add Some Storage

If there is a way to add some storage to your home, will you do it? Storage is a sticking point for many families and we often find it hard to store everything away. By changing up the places you store things or even in the way that you store things, you will update your home and make it a much nicer place to be.

You could even consider choosing furniture that incorporates storage into its design such as an ottoman bed, a footstool with storage underneath or even a built in wardrobe.

These are just a few of our top tips for updating your home over a weekend . Have you updated your home recently, doing any of the things I mentioned above ? If so, what did you do?
